Błyskawiczna zmiana planów - Warszawa zamiast Chicago ( A sudden change of plans - Warsaw instead of Chicago)
It was supposed to be a break from Poland, from problems, from the constant chase, but as usual, life wrote its own story. Robert had to diligently fulfill his academic obligations, so we changed our flight reservation and returned to Poland. DoubleTree by Hilton became our home for nearly two months, and day by day, we felt more and more at home there. Our well-being was primarily created by exceptionally friendly staff and well-thought-out solutions that were child-friendly.
Pia adapted perfectly to the new/old place, which she definitely preferred over our abode in Chicago. Unfortunately, we had to spend a lot of time in showrooms, salons, and incredibly boring meetings, which were far from enjoyable for our little one eager for excitement.
Oh... I forgot to mention what necessitated our return to the country. A few weeks before our departure, I received a commission to design and furnish the interiors of a new building in Prince Khaled bin Sultan's estate, a member of the Saudi Royal Family. The commission seemed relatively straightforward, so I assigned the project to my colleagues. However, requirements grew day by day, and the prince's arrival deadline approached relentlessly. There was no other choice—we had to go back and get to work.
The arrival of Prince Khaled was associated with an Arabian horse show held at his estate, intended to be one of the top 10 most important shows in the world. The work was challenging, but frequent visits to the estate turned out to be a great adventure for Pia, who clearly inherited her mother's love for equine beauty.
Great stress, intensive work... and we succeeded. The property appealed to both the prince and his entourage. As a result, I was invited to showcase my portfolio during the festival...
The Arabian horse festival turned out to be an extraordinary experience. The beauty of the presented animals was simply stunning. Even my husband, who is usually skeptical about such events, succumbed to the incredible visual sensations. Meanwhile, I had the opportunity to award prizes to the yearling colts. Morion, the stallion from Michałów Stud, proved to be the best and practically swept all the important trophies.
Our little Princess felt perfectly at ease in the open space. Animals, vast pastures, delicious food, beautiful weather, and her parents—what more does a one-and-a-half-year-old cherub need to be happy?
Unfortunately, the last day of the festival, held at Służewiec, was ruined by nasty, rainy weather. Pia was exhausted and cranky, and even the fascinator specially purchased for the occasion couldn't improve her mood. Robert enthusiastically threw himself into the whirlwind of gambling, only to end up losing 3 złotys. Overwhelmed by the difficult-to-accept defeat and Pia's bad mood, we returned to the hotel.
I must admit that working with a toddler of several months is decidedly more challenging than with a newborn, especially when the little one is breastfed. Paradoxically, the biggest problem lies in the parents' psyche. The child immediately senses stress and automatically amplifies it, feeling psychological discomfort. Therefore, the key to success is minimizing stress and constantly taking care of the baby's well-being. If we forget about this principle, we automatically fall into a spiral of increasing tension, which certainly won't end in a happy ending.
