With only two free days at our disposal (when Robert didn't have any meetings and could leave the city), we decided to make the most of our available time. I must admit that the idea of driving over 100 miles just to see the test area seemed controversial to me, to say the least. Most of us associate Utah with Salt Lake City, which hosted the Winter Olympics in 2002 and the Mormons, who are particularly numerous in this state. In preparation for our trip, I considered the possibility of taking advantage of the wide range of winter sports available at the Olympic venues. The first challenge in organizing the trip was, of course, buying airline tickets, and here the first surprise appeared. Generally, flights to the USA are relatively cheap, but it turns out that this does not apply to SLC. Only KLM, AirFrance, and Lufthansa fly directly to the capital of Utah. Due to limited competition, the flight price is higher than to Hawaii. Therefore, since we planned the trip in advance, I managed to catch a one-day promotion at KLM and ultimately purchase tickets at reasonable prices.
