Traditionally, everything started very innocently. Robert avidly follows the "super deals" of the travel market, so when I noticed a promotion by Wizz Air for flights from Gdańsk to Malta, I simply asked if he had seen the current offers from this carrier as well. I received a curt "no" as a response, but a few hours later, my Wonderful Husband returned to the conversation, informing me that indeed the offer was interesting, which is why he had bought us tickets at an incredibly low price.
Robert studied in Malta a long, long time ago and often mentioned that it is an extraordinary, magical place that has been a crossroads of many cultures for centuries. Well, for me, the most important thing was that we would be able to bask in the rays of the Mediterranean sun with Pia. After painstakingly researching hotel offers, we managed to find a good promotion at the Westin Dragonara Resort.
A few days later, I quickly packed my suitcase, Robert returned at 12:30 from his classes in Bydgoszcz, and fifteen minutes later, we were on our way to Gdańsk. Our tired little daughter, worn out from helping Mom pack the suitcase and numerous antics with Auntie, went off for a well-deserved nap. Robert was polishing up some overdue review on the computer, and I sped down the highway towards the Tri-City.
We arrived at the airport relatively smoothly, as our journey didn't even last two hours. After a quick check-in, we settled into the executive lounge, where the stress of the manic professional rush of the past few weeks finally began to fade away. Four hours later, we were sitting in the hotel restaurant, savoring octopus salad and fresh, excellently seasoned fish.
Lunch in Toruń, dinner in Malta... easily done without any problems; it's just a shame that our airport in Bydgoszcz doesn't offer interesting destinations.
Oops... I forgot to mention the airline rating. As you may recall, we were very satisfied with our Wizz Air flight to Verona. This time everything would have been flawless if not for the behavior of the crew. A few minutes after takeoff, the second pilot, three flight attendants, and one passenger started their joyful party onboard, forgetting about the passengers. Our hungry little one managed to eat half a pack of children's vitamin-infused chewy candies (mostly vitamin C) before finally receiving a sensible snack after 90 minutes.
