Na narty z Maluszkiem - hotel czy kwatera? (Skiing with a Little One - Hotel or Apartment?)

Contemplating the choice of accommodation, aside from the classic aspects related to ski infrastructure, we had slightly different perceptions. On one hand, a private apartment provides more freedom, the possibility of preparing meals independently, and usually more space. On the other hand, a hotel offers primarily the opportunity to interact with other guests and access amenities such as a pool, kids club, and, for the lazy ones, relief from cleaning and cooking.

Taking into account all the pros and cons in the context of our daughter's expectations, we opted for a hotel. Two-year-old Pia is definitely too young (in terms of age and height, she easily qualifies) for her first skiing experiences, but she possesses immense energy resources that need to be discharged in a controlled manner.

The most helpful instruments guaranteeing the safety of the "chain reaction" process are the pool, spacious lobby, and kids club. The hotel we chose ensured all these amenities. The only problem, as I mentioned in a previous post, was the food. When traveling to Italy, we expect cuisine that surprises us with a range of taste sensations. However, our hotel offered the standard fare of an American motel—cold cuts, toast, the cheapest ham, salami and cheese, yogurt from a cup, and machine-made coffee—simply dreadful. Dinner, on the other hand, was probably served by a catering company specializing (as we suspect) in serving Italian shelters for the homeless. The only edible items were those available in the salad buffet and desserts.

However, the culinary shortcomings were mitigated by the products available at the nearby minimarket, which allowed our taste buds to feel like they were on an Italian vacation as well.

Despite significant remarks about the food issue, I believe that choosing the hotel was a very fitting idea. If you're going skiing with a little one, take additional amenities into account!

Zastanawiając się nad wyborem miejsca zakwaterowania poza klasycznymi aspektami związanymi z infrastrukturą narciarską mieliśmy nieco rozbieżne odczucia. Z jednej strony prywatny apartament daje większą swobodę, możliwość samodzielnego przygotowania posiłków oraz zazwyczaj większą przestrzeń, hotel to przede wszystkim możliwość interakcji z innymi gośćmi oraz dostęp do udogodnień typu basen, kids club, a dla leniuszków również ulgę w sprzątaniu i gotowaniu.

Biorąc pod uwagę wszystkie plusy i minusy w kontekście oczekiwań naszej Córeczki wybór padł na hotel. Dwuletnia Pia jest zdecydowanie za mała (wiekiem, wzrostem bez problemu się kwalifikuje) na pierwsze narciarskie doświadczenia, posiada jednak olbrzymie zasoby energii, które trzeba w sposób kontrolowany rozładować. 

Najbardziej pomocnymi instrumentami gwarantującymi bezpieczeństwo przebiegu „reakcji łańcuchowej” jest basen, obszerne lobby oraz kids club. 

Wybrany przez nas hotel gwarantował wszelkie tego typu udogodnienia. Jedynym problemem, o którym wspominałam we wcześniejszym wpisie było jedzenie. Jadąc do Włoch oczekujemy kuchni, która będzie zaskakiwała paletą doznań smakowych. Nasz hotel oferował standard amerykańskiego motelu - drzem, chleb tostowy, najtańsza szynka, salami i ser, jogurt z michy i kawa z automatu - po prostu dramat. Kolacja natomiast serwowana była zapewne przez firmę kateringową specjalizująca się (jak przypuszczamy) w obsłudze włoskich przytułków dla bezdomnych. Jedyne co można było zjeść to produkty oferowane w bufecie sałatkowym oraz desery.

Mankamenty żywieniowe zacierały jednak produkty dostępne w pobliskim minimarkecie dzięki, którym również kubki smakowe mogły poczuć się jak na włoskich wakacjach.

Pomimo istotnych uwag do kwestii wyżywienia uważam, że wybór hotelu był bardzo trafnym pomysłem. Jeżeli jedziecie sami do narty z Maleństwem bierzcie pod uwagę dodatkowe udogodnienia!
